Broward SCORE volunteer counselors yesterday finished a makeover of an ex-teacher’s tutoring service.

Published June 03, 2014

The Miami Herald has a Business Makeover Program where it solicits applications from its readers to have their business examined by professionals for ways to move it forward.

The Herald selects businesses from the applicants and 4-6 times a year asks Broward SCORE to provide volunteers with the appropriate background to go into the businesses, evaluate the opportunities, and make recommendations.

The team, along with Herald staff,  works over a six to 8 week period  in 3 or 4 meetings to get to know the business well enough to make observations and recommendations. SCORE’s counseling services are free so there is no charge to the businesses.

The most recent makeover was just completed and can be read here.
